Now computers generally use ATX power adapters. When the system fails, a comprehensive analysis should be carried out from the aspects of BIOS, the power adapter itself and the motherboard. According to the principle of "soft first and then hard" in computer maintenance, first check whether the BIOS settings are correct, and eliminate false faults caused by improper settings; the second step, check whether the ATX Power Supply is normal; the third step, check whether the motherboard power supply monitoring circuit normal.
At the same time, when judging whether the power adapter is normal, you can remove the power supply and use a scrapped device (such as hard disk, etc.) as a false load to avoid no-load protection. Connect a 100-150Ω resistor between the PS-ON signal line (green) and the ground line to make the signal low. If the power supply can work, the fault is in the motherboard or BIOS settings, otherwise the fault is in the power supply itself.
