Emerson Launches DCH5 Series Wall Mount Power Adapter

June 12, 2018

Emerson Network Power announced the launch of its new DCH5 Series 5W Wall Mount USB AC/DC Adapter. This series of adapters is not only beautifully designed, but also integrates multiple functions, eliminating the need for wires and connectors that are specifically designed for connecting power supplies. In other words, as long as one end of this adapter is plugged into an AC outlet, a standard USB Type A slot on the other end of the adapter provides DC output.

Emerson Network Power's DCH5 series power adapters use world-wide AC input voltages from 100V to 240V to provide a stable 5V DC voltage output and up to 1A of continuous current. This series of adapters operates in constant voltage or constant current mode and can supply power to USB peripherals that use less than 5W and require external power. As for related applications, this series of adapters can be used to provide Power Supply and charging current for electronic products such as smart phones, tablet computers, digital cameras, portable electronic game machines, and e-book readers in addition to typical applications such as small network devices. .

Emerson Network Power's DCH5 series adapters are available in four different models. Each type of AC input plug is different, which are applicable to the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia. Each model of adapter is extremely compact, and weighs only 2.3 ounces (66 grams) to allow users to carry in travel bags when they travel. Since the DCH5 adapter is so slim and small, multiple adapters can also be plugged into a wall-mounted dual socket at the same time.

All four adapters use the latest switching power conversion technology and meet the "Energy Star" Level 5 international energy efficiency standards. Emerson Network Power's DCH5 series also complies with the EU's 2009/125/EC ecodesign directive (Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC) on Tier 2 Energy Related Products (ErP). This directive has very strict regulations on energy consumption in both efficiency and standby mode. These adapters do not have minimum load requirements, and they have very low no-load power consumption (up to 300mW).

Emerson Network Power's DCH5 series power adapter products use an extremely safe grounding design, which reduces ground leakage to a very low level of no more than 20mA. Other safety-related protection designs include overvoltage lockout, output short circuit protection with automatic recovery, and overload protection up to 1.5A. In addition, the DCH5 series power adapters can also operate at temperatures ranging from zero degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius.

The DCH5 series power adapters have built-in filters that comply with the CISPR22 Class B (Class B) electromagnetic interference regulations. Therefore, the conducted noise is extremely low and complies with EN55022B (Class B) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Part15 Level B electromagnetic compatibility standards. It also complies with EN55082- 1 Standards concerning electromagnetic interference. This series of products has obtained safety certifications from a number of internationally recognized organizations, including cUL/UL/TUV/NEMKO/NSW60950-1 and CEMark (LVD, EMC&ErP2011).
